Day 02: Something you regret not having done last year.
There's only one thing I regret not having done last year, and that is that I didn't keep up with my workout regimen. It caused me to lose energy, and the more energy I lost, the worse my eating habits got. It really proved to me once and for all how exercise and a good diet is really connected to your overall mental health. I felt more stable back when I was exercising and living by the 80/20 rule (eat healthy 80% of the time, treat yourself 20% of the time). I need to get back to that.
I have a Zumba game for my Xbox 360 Kinnect and I need to start using that a couple times a week and knock it off with the soda and the junk food.
I can't believe it's May already. Time for me to really turn this year around for the better.
I didn't, either. I was determined to turn 50 in fabulous shape, but the day came and I was still wearing the same jeans.
ReplyDeleteI gained a lot of weight from a medication I can't go off and it takes FOREVER to get closer to your weight before you took it if you can't stop taking the meds. I don't need to be a size eight like I was before, a size 12 would be fabulous to me.
DeleteI like your "80%/20%" system. Hadn't heard of that before, but it sounds very livable, like you don't have to beat yourself up for indulging now and then. :)

It is easier just to do the 80/20 rule with exercise at least three days a week. You won't loose weight quickly but the weight you do loose stays off.
DeleteLike Susan, I hadn't heard of the 80/20 program, either. Sounds reasonable.
ReplyDeleteOnce you get used to it you realize you can have what you crave and you don't have to feel like "OMG I have to get in all my favorite foods before I go on this diet": it's supposed to be a lifestyle change.
DeleteLove that 80/20 idea! Exercise creates energy. Best of luck getting back to your routine. You're not alone!
