Intervention

I have been watching this show a lot lately, and have been watching it off and on since it first aired.

Now that I am switching my major to addiction counseling, I feel compelled to watch it even more. I know that I'd be really good at it because I have received words of encouragement from people in this field of study.

I am someone with an addictive personality whom has fallen off the wagon plenty of times. The thing is though, every time I have fallen I have forced myself to get back up on my two feet. I was the one who checked myself in to the hospital to get help every single time I knew I needed extra psychiatric help. I also am dealing with a lot of postpartum psychosis and depression and am still doing whatever I can to stay on the right path.

Staying on the right path entailed that I would have to stop talking to certain people, stop going certain places, and having to cut off basically any ties that are toxic to my recovery.

Sometimes if you want to change your life, you really have to change your friends. That's the biggest thing I have learned from the past three years.

You said a mouthful there, my friend. 100% accurate. It's hard to do sometimes, at least for me, but the positive effects are almost magical.

    <3 as always...
