GBE #7: 100 words

I had a cat named “Lucy”. She was the daughter of a cat I had found during one of the biggest blizzards in New Jersey. She was a mackerel tabby cat, grey and white. She was born when I was about eleven. She was by far my best friend. She was always at my side; more of a puppy than an actual domesticated cat. She was my heart for so long, until one day she disappeared. My heart shattered. The night I finally gave up looking for her I cried all night long. She was my protector. Still miss her.

  1. Aww, that's so sad. My daughter was just the same when her cat CC died. Now, 30 years later, she has 4 cats, but CC will always be extra special to her.

  2. @Paula: My thoughts are with her. Not everyone can understand how a pet can really become your best friend in the world.

  3. Lucy ran out of lives - she only had nine of them.
