Judgmental people are to me one of the buttons that nobody should ever push. It gets very ugly when they do, in a "three strikes you're out," type of way. I always say I hand every stranger I meet a blank slate, and that it is up to them what they want to do with it. If I realize I have just encountered a person whom cannot understand the concept of "don't sweat the small stuff" is when I begin inching away from that particular friendship.

As far as "Judgement Day" goes: I was in high school when the year turned to 2000. Remember that whole "world is supposed to end" controversy about entering a new millennium? That's the first time I ever got drunk. It was hilarious to watch: a former friend of mine stopped by and I told her I had a few drinks and she asked me how I felt while I was washing dishes: "Yanno, I just want to clean everything now. Drinking makes me go on a cleaning bender (which holds kinda true to this day). It was disappointing in a way because I was looking forward to some sort of cool alien invasion or something. Eh, waddayagonnado, right?

The worst form of judgement lies right in front of me like a pot-hole speckled road: how well will I handle the judgement that will no doubt come from idiots when my daughter grows up?

Oh, and if anybody wants to know my stance on the chance of my kid getting bullied: I am not the one. That's all I'll say about that.

We forget how easy it is to hand over our judgement. Maybe there will come a day when we decide to hand over empathy instead.
