The Ugly

WARNING: This post contains material that may be triggering or upsetting to some viewers.

This is a 1997 New Zealand horror film about a young serial killer named Simon. You see the abuse he goes through up until the moment he meets a criminal psychologist who wants to know why Simon kills. His explanation that he simply enjoys it is not enough for her. Most serial killers have patterns, most collect mementos of their victims. The only thing Simon has left behind is a trail of corpses. In Simon's case, randomness is his pattern. This is another film that shows what bullying and abuse can turn someone into.

The man who plays Simon is very good, but the one thing that will annoy any horror flick buff is the black blood that gushes out of his victims throats after he has sliced their necks open. It's so annoying!!! I give it three out of five stars.

From Wiki:

A criminal psychologist begins a series of interviews with a mental patient/serial killer named Simon Cartwright. As the interviews progress, the doc is drawn into Simon's world and seduced by his boyish charms. But as she delves deeper into his psyche she discovers that Simon, who claims to be haunted by the voices of his victims telling him to kill, as well as a malignant alternate persona called "The Ugly" may not be so much crazy as he is tortured inside from years of physical and psychological abuse.
